DescriptionOn one side a female figure symbolises religion, or wisdom - an open book with dove just above it means the Inspired Word or Holy Scriptues; the cock to the left of the book signifies treason, denial, heresy, the owl to the right wisdom. Nearer the top of the main figure the lamb on a book, means Agnus Dei, & opposite this the angel holding a mirror may convey the idea that religion is the mirror of Justice. The female figure on the other half of the pitcher rests on clouds at her feet two angels hold a cornucopia from which grapes fall. Above her upraised left arm an angel lets fall streams of water on mountain ranges; her uplifted right arm holds an anchor with two keys. An angel points to the figure, which like the other is surrounded with rays.Status
