DescriptionA gilt bronze belt plaque or ornament that would adorn a horse bridle or saddle. The top surface is on intricate design (with the thinner parts having worn through - corrosion?) and there is a grey metal plate (tinned?) attached to the back with a piece of material (felt?) in between. The sides and ends of this rectangular shaped item are lightly scalloped, with detail at the corners, and the ends are rounded. A piece of the top surface and left end (and edge of metal plate) are broken off and missing, revealing another type of material inside between the felt and surface. There is also light green accretion on top.
