Summer Small Works
Exhibition and Sale
Saturday, July 2nd, 2011 – Sunday, August 28th, 2011
Art Rental’s Summer Small Works Show is a two month exhibition and sale featuring Vancouver Island’s finest artists’ original artwork in small format. Hung salon style in the historic Massey Gallery, this much anticipated event showcases well over 100 works of art for only $200 - $400 per piece.
All submissions are invited for adjudication. Artists who would like to be considered are asked to read the terms and conditions listed below.
Criteria
- All artwork must be original and demonstrate an acquired level of technical and artistic ability
- Up to 2 small works created within the last year will be accepted for consideration, priced between $200.00 and $400.00 per work
- Maximum framed size: 12” x 16”
- All work must be framed or mounted on canvas, wired in back and ready to hang. Work that is still wet will not be accepted
- Work must be signed and labeled at the back with corresponding title, medium and price
- Consignment Agreement (pdf below) must be completed in duplicate and accompany submitted artwork
Dates
- Drop-off for Adjudication: June 14th and June 18th
- Notification of Acceptance: June 24th
- Pick-up Artwork Not Accepted: June 25th
- Pick-up Unsold Artwork: August 28th – September 4th
Accepted Artists
- A commission fee of 50% will be taken on sales by the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria
- New artists must provide a brief (500 words max) bio/artist statement to mmarsh@aggv.ca by the drop off deadline.
- Any work left after the Unsold pick-up deadline without prior arrangements, will be considered a donation for fund-raising purposes
