Lucius O'Brien was an important Canadian artist working in the late 19th century. Best known for his travels across Canada producing landscapes for the CPR to encourage people to travel and settle in all parts of Canada from coast to coast. He was also the founding president of the RCA and editor of Picturesque Canada, a significant illustrated publication that promoted the growth of Canada.
