BiographyMarino Marini (Pistoia 1901 – Viareggio 1980) was an Italian artist principally known for his sculpture.
Marini studied are in Florence and was an instructor and an art school in Milan. He knew several of the
important mid 20 th century artists and was influenced by Arp, Beckman, Calder and Lipchitz whom he
met in Paris and Basel. There were several retrospectives of his work in his lifetime and his work is in
many important collections including the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, the Norton Simon
Museum and the Hirshhorn. We have one lithograph in the collection.
