Francisca Hayman b. 1938, Ommen, The Netherlands trained as a nurse prior to coming to Canada in 1960.

In the early 1960s she received pottery training in Victoria with Louise Buck and Margarete Nehl-McLennan and with Jan Grove at UVic in 1967-68. She also received training in raku from Gillian Mackie.

In the late 60s and early 1970s she studied in Britain at the Chelsea Pottery, Stanhope Institute, Oxford Polytechnic College and Berkshire College (Abingdon).

She exhibited locally at the AGGV (1969, 1972), Malaspina College (1971), the Potter's Wheel (Victoria, 1973, 1976) and in Alberta at the National Ceramics Exhibition (Glenbow Institute, Calgary, 1976).

In 1986 she was one of the founders of the Side Street Studio, Victoria, BC.
