BiographyBouvier was a London based painter of portrait, genre, figure and biblical subjects. He entered the Royal Academy Schools in 1841 and later studied in France. He became a master of the watercolour medium, which flourished in the nineteenth century. From 1845 until his death he exhibited throughout London at the British Institution, the Society of British Artists and the New Watercolour Society, where he was elected to membership in 1865.
