DescriptionSir William Grant, 1752 - 1832, son of a small farmer in Morayshire, after the death of his parents, he was educated by his uncle, a rich London merchant. He studied law at the University of Leyden & was appointed attorney-general of Canada in 1776. In 1790, after his return to England he entered Parliament in the adminstration of Pitt. He later became a distinguished judge & Master of the Rolls.
