DescriptionLovely scene of a beauty ironing a kimono for the month of December, preparing clothes for the New Year. The robe is spread out on the floor, and she smoothes the fabric with a long-handled warmer. At right, a beauty holds out a lenth of cloth and a ruler as a cat sleeps on her lap. The third woman unwraps folded silk from a paper wrapping. The inset above shows traditional offerings for the New Year holiday. An attractive subject with wonderful detail in the household setting with furnishings.
