Alexis Hogan is an emerging artist and curator. She holds a degree is Visual Arts (2015) from Emily Carr University of Art and Design with a focus in printingmaking, sculpture and critical, cultural theory. She is in the midst of a yearlong curatorial research residency, supported by the BC Arts Council Early Career Development Award and Open Space Arts Society, where she is currently working on programming projects related to the artist-run-center's archives. At its roots, her work tends to grapple with the complexities of being a settler with Indigenous ancestry (Irish, Quebecois and Anishinaabe) and she seeks to move towards the transformative potential of a decolonial praxis engaged in accountability, vulnerability and action.
